Do you need a DPO?

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), some organisations are required to appoint a Data Protection Officer (DPO). When required, organisations are also required to publish the details of their DPO and provide these details to their national supervisory authority.

In some cases, for instance when the processing is carried out by a public authority or body, the organisation is required to appoint a DPO. The nature or scale of processing may also require to appoint a DPO

The role of the DPO is to advise the organisation on compliance matters with regards to the GDPR and other data protection laws.
